I guess create a "native" profile for the new subproject.

bq. I'll file a follow-on JIRA to address the findbugs issues here - they 
ostensibly already existed (I made no code changes), and instead of just adding 
a findbugs exclude file, perhaps someone can try to squash some of the bugs.

Since you're only moving the code (not creating new code) this seems 
reasonable.  Can you link that JIRA to this one?
