That may be a problem. I remember seeing similar statements 
even in httpd code, and it is not a different copyright - it
just indicates that the code was originally based on some code
that was donated to ASF ( which is just a true fact )

It is true, tomcat ( when donated by Sun ) didn't include such
a statement. 

Ok, we need to find out if this is indeed a problem or not. Or
just ask jxpath commiters to remove it - but I think we should
first get an answer that this is wrong. 
If it is not wrong - it would just remove a very fair attribution.

Dmitri - I assume you didn't 'take this code from another open 
source project' and replaced copyright. No offense please, I have to ask.
