Doesn't James lean pretty heavily on the javax.mail... API for encoding/decoding of messages (possibly multipart)? This leads us back to our earlier discussion.

Noel, this is in line with codec's history. Not necessarily an innovator but an aggregator of code that already exists within the ASF. Just trying to reduce the duplication of effort.


If James has this code, and others concur, I'd vote for integrating this code "whole hog" into [codec]
