The attached is a patch to trunk that incorporates the basic idea of requiring the discovery process to actually instantiate a Log object before considering an adapter to be discovered. All tests called by the test target in build.xml pass with this version. LoadTest also passes (which I regard as a negative -- means discovery can't handle a misconfigured TCCL).
