As long as the developer APIs and user syntax are stable, I'm in favour of pushing along a 1.0 release even if the distribution bundling potentially needs work. That can always be fixed later (unlike broken APIs). As Maven is a major (probably the most significant) user of Jelly I trust Brett to know whether the Jelly API and script formats are ok. And the lack of bugzilla entries and user/development questions also implies that Jelly is fine as-is. I'm planning to take a look at the latest Jelly RC later today; hopefully I can give a +1 then...
