Sorry, didn't mean to close the bug!

Re. comment #17 - we're running into the same problem when using LRUMap without
Collections.synchronizedMap(). Here's the requested info about JRE and OS 
version:

$ java -version
java version "1.4.2_07"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_07-b05)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_07-b05, mixed mode)

$ uname -a
Linux XXX 2.6.9-5.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Jan 5 19:30:39 EST 2005 i686 i686 i386 
GNU/Linux

The NPE occurs when calling LRUMap.put(). The key is immutable (String). We're
only using the put() and get() methods.
