Hi Sanjiva:

I'm disappointed that you (and Bill) are pointing to the non-English
nativeness of the name as the problem. Maybe English speakers don't find
an immediate association- that's PRECISELY why ASF is moving against
suggesting names. Do you know what Apache Ode is? What about Apache
Kabuki? Apache Lokahi?

Personally, I like having some kind of association between the name and the technology (WSDL4J is nicer than Woden to me), but I'm not tied to it. My main problem isn't the non-Englishness, it's that I don't particularly like the word "Neethi" purely based on the way it sounds/looks - I'd vote -1 for an English word I didn't like the sound of too (i.e. "Apache Slither"). It's like reacting emotionally to a made up car name like "Miata" - I like that one, but hate "Previa"....

Another couple of suggestions: I'd be fine with something like "Apache Saku" (which is apparently Policy in Japanese). And I still think Policy4J is a fine choice. And as always, I'm fine with the results of the vote no matter what, I'm just putting my opinion out there.
