This patch still needs some work and a few more test cases, but I think the overall design should work well. The only major question I have is in regard to HttpConnection references. The IdleConnectionHandler keeps hard references to the connections that it's holding. Normally I would be opposed to this, but since they will eventually time out I think it's okay. How does everyone feel about this?
