And most importantly: when it breaks, you're fucked.

The same can happen with open source, but you're much less likely to
have a vendor do it to you as part of their plan to brutalise your
last pennies out of you.

(so, anyone else work with Solaris and Java and watch the Oracle
takeover in sheer horror?)
