I personally think this needs to be addressed correctly and not go around and
around via this discussion group any longer, which will ultimately get very
messy

If this was a reputable company, all staff involved in both incidents would be
suspended immediately and due to the severity of each issue and investigation
would generally be launched within days not months as in the case here.

AfriNic’s name is now starting to be dragged through the mud with all this and
will eventually bring AfriNic’s name into disrepute; something that will have
far reaching detrimental affects down the line.

Some body from the AfriNic board that is NOT implicated in either the
harassment or breach of NDA needs to take control now and make a decisive
statement to the community in the very near future (as in 72 hours) in order to
inform the community of what is being done about each of the issues. The
reputation of AfriNic and the community cannot wait until the end of April for
an investigation to start.

To the board that are not involved in either, get your act together quickly or
step down for a new interim board to be appointed in order to resolve this but
this cannot continue any longer in this manner.

And see – Sorry Alan, but I view this as entirely unacceptable.

There is precedent at play here – when the NDA violations in the past were
admitted – board members were asked to vacate there seats with immediate
effect. Where they chose to be investigated and have hearings held – those
hearings were scheduled by the board again – almost immediately – and the time
frames for those hearings clearly communicated.

The GC has been tasked to report back to the board with TOR’s – that does not
even finalize the investigation – that means effectively that the investigation
may not start until the 1st of May and there is almost no way that it will be
completed before Dakar – and I do not think this community wants to be flying
someone – at AfriNIC’s expense – to Dakar – when he has clearly violated the
NDA.

If the board is NOT willing to act in this situation in a consistent manner
with the way they have acted in the past – and is willing to apply a double
standard – then the board itself becomes complicit – and again – I reiterate –
this now has to get to a point where the community starts to ask itself if the
board has gone rogue and is simply protecting its own – in which case – is it
perhaps time for the community to take stronger action

Andrew

Dear Evelyn,

Regardless of which allegations are of more or less concern to the community,
all allegations will be investigated.

As the community was informed earlier, the Board has asked the Governance
Committee to report back to the Board by 30 April 2018.
