Well, I'm trying. I'm fearing however that my perception isn't necessarily Apache's reality, so that in the proces of fixing the perceived need, I'm establishing possible future alienation of Cocoon-based projects who want to move to Apache somewhere in time (not sure where they would fit in, but that's irrelevant). So I'm trying to do it 'the Right Way'. Hence my ignorant & clueless newbie questions :-)

Hm - sounds interesting - and indeed similar to what the PHP people have been doing on the infrastructure level.
