yes, great idea. i'm sure it could be hosted on openmoko - drawings for the modified case, instructions for materials, prices and so on. you can modify the hardware, just take off the parts you don't like and replace them. want a new case in silver and purple? go for it. want a case made from brass with diamonds inset, and a 200mm joystick - go for for it.
i'm of the opinion that the case is way too big/fugly and would love to be able to make my own. iirc, the mobo has spare header pins for connecting additional hardware like trackball, d-pad, etc? On 7/2/07, Frederic Kettelhoit <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Ok, that sounds not really good... Probably it is more difficult than I thougt... But what would be with an expansion back and top as described in the hardware wishlist? I would be sad to have a phone with open software but without the possibility to modify the hardware. Probably I would like to make a case for me, which is more stylish in my eyes. So it could be easy to make it big enough to put an extra camera or probably a trackball inside. The camera in the back and the trackball in the front. With some changes on the motherboard, that would be possible, I think. It would make the Neo perfect. Everyone could contribute everything, even hardware. That's my opinion, what do you think? _______________________________________________ OpenMoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
