A lot more power, not a little. Flash is even worse - that's why Apple refused to support it. Figure you might get an hour of battery life if you decode H.264 in hardware, if your CPU can even keep up. Because that's how long the battery lasts with no power management on the Neo right now. The Neo's CPU is roughly equivalent to the Nokia 770, which can't play H.264 video in real time.
