Hi all

Because of those battery concerns, we are installing our setups with a small
audio mixer and linking the lapel mic to the right audio channel and the
ambient mic to the left audio channel.

Then we have made a new operation in Matterhorn to extract the audio from the
right channel before processing. So we have a "backup audio" that would be not
as good, but still usable.

Of course the extract audio operation could be smarter, and select
automatically the left channel if there is only noise in the right channel, but
we aren't there yet

Hi all:

We are not still considering this issue, but I have one concern: what if those
mics run out of batteries? How do you deal with that problem?

Thanks and best regards

We are planning on a mixture of things
Webcamera microphone
USB array mics
Lapel microphones, Sure. In General, we have smartpodiums with switched and
routed sources so we would like to incorporate it from there

Hi all,

I was wondering what microphones people are planning to use?

Some early experiments I have been doing with CMU Sphinx show that the
speech recognition engine is very sensitive to echo and reverberation
(as well as background noise), so we are looking at lapel mics and
head-mounted mics.

For venues where amplification isn't necessary for the audience, I was
also wondering whether bluetooth headsets would be an option?
