While QAing earlier Matterhorn versions we frequently encountered that the connetion between Internet2 in america and GÉANT2 in europe is sometime a very week point where we noticed a dramatic decrease in the ping times and the bandwith that we could use. This is probably not a problem related to the server, but has to do with the internet connection.

Ruben,

Yesterday (14 Feb 2012) I experienced much intermittent dropping in the stream. In fact, it was so bad I couldn't get through much of the 11 minute video. I was watching:

http://matterhorn.teltek.es/engage/ui/watch.html?id=22d9a1ff-28f6-44cb-9ca7-01cd7c2befd1

However, I had *no* problems today (15 Feb 2012)--and I tested it at two different times. So my guess is either you've changed something on the server end (less likely), or the streaming anomaly was due to the network traffic idiosyncrasies (more likely).

I have a Dell 2.5 Ghz PC, 4GB RAM, Windows XP, Firefox 10.0.1, US .edu (but not Internet2).

Best,

Wayne Smith, Ph.D.

Hello,

In Teltek we have not experienced those problems either. Just FYI, we
are running a 1.2 MH server and the videos are streamed via Flash Media
Server 4.0.

Even though it appears that most people can play the videos without
problems, we are a little worried about those issues and we want to
investigate them further. Those who have had problems playing the
videos, can you please provide us with some more details, such as the OS
you are using, browser version and everything you consider relevant.

I hope nobody else will experience any problem, but if that happens,
please let me know.

Best regards
Rubén

Unfortunately the videos are not playing back for me in a consistent
way. Sometimes they freeze particularly when I navigate to
different parts of the video, and other times the Matterhorn loading
icon appears for a long time. I just was curious whether others
    encountered similar issues.____

On this end, videos play fine for me on first go through, and in
general, look great! But if I choose to play the same video again
w/o loading the page, I get the Matterhorn loading icon.____
