Hello Kris, Our group employs Flowplayer for a number of projects, including Mediathread [1], as well as for our custom, local services for course-related online video. It has been a particularly helpful media player for our group as we serve a good amount of our video files using http streaming (i.e. pseudostreaming) in Flash and (soon) H.264. One pain point in using the open-source version is the "Flowplayer" branding, which can be removed if you buy a license.
medialement.js [2], is another media player we are looking at closer these days. Guess it comes down to if you are looking for a media player that provides general playback, or deeper integration with your own tools at MIT… Either way, I hope that this is helpful.
