Hm, I think the tanglu.org project has implemented a buld system like this (syncs packages from debian sources). Seems to be a real time saver. One idea for the Tanglu distribution (a rebuild as close as possible to debian) is also to to support the distribution of packages before they become available in debian releases. Right, actually the tanglu build system may also easily be the first distribution to provide qtmoko packages and repositories.
