Wrote to whom? Good point about??

Maybe I misunderstand the reason for the ACGA forum, but it seems to me that
it is well beyond just a place to discuss how to put together a community
garden. I could most likely find 10 books on the subject or Organic
Gardening, and find 10 unique approaches to it. It would be difficult
without some serious analysis to put down any of those approaches. Are we
not doing this to push the envelope of thinking on this rather large idea of
Gardening in Community? We are all coming to this place with unique
perspectives, and opinions. I find it all fascinating, and choose by my
nature to keep an open mind. Frankly I do not know enough to do otherwise.

As for this biochar discussion, I found it intriguing given my recently
cultivated interest, the topic then sprang up in this forum. I wanted to
hear more from folks who had some knowledge, because what I was reading in
the technical literature has been difficult at times to decipher.

Ken, I am surprise, given your international experience and exposure, that
you have not run across this.

Peace.from one who wants to learn

Good point. The level of idiocy is not in question here...it's stupid. :)

Kane,

I can not believe the hype about such a sorry thing and the conflicting
statements. Use crop reside and manure to make biochar which takes
thousands of years to break down. I am not interested in it for farming and
will await a response from a farmer if one ever uses it. Look at the energy
it takes to make the stuff even out of non-farm waste. Composting is the way
to go. Some people who want to become famous are using biochar to get their
name before the world just like Al Gore and his sky-is-falling talk. There
is plenty of proof he and biochar fans are wrong if one is seeking Truth.
