Hi Bruno, thx for the answer, I had stopped working with Rails for a long while now and was not aware of all the changes to 2.3 etc and also had no experience with the enginesplugin but in my fast and short freshup I understood that a big part of the enginesplugin made its way in the railscore meanwhile some concepts did not and again in my understanding after fast review I thought that way some cornerconcepts of CE will stop working under rails 2.3 and need a bigger refactoring, what can allways be done for sure, no doubt, and I have not thought that the enginesplugin will still work in 2.3 as I thought it would be obsolete now
So I never had doubts someday you or someone else will make it 2.3 ready, but that was the way the question was meant: why should I start "today"...if for a fresh new project you have to go with "outdated" code...rails first of all etc. So for now I will try TOG for my little project as it also fits my needs and will keep an eye on future versions of CE. No doubt you have done some nice work here and my testinstallation (even on win) worked like a charm. So I honestly appreciate your work and the sharing with the community Best regards matthi On Apr 15, 2:59 pm, Bruno Bornsztein <[email protected]> wrote: > > as it turns out that the engines concept from rails 2.3.x is totally > > different then needed by communityEngine and will never be a fit for > > CE if not CE itself change a lot. > > What?
