You could but unless you really need to you might be happier using
System 6 MultiFinder.
Try it out, see how you feel. System Picker can let you switch them.
BTW, I was just playing with my Classic (6.0.8) and I noticed that
you can create a new folder on the RAM disk. I also like the Get Info
message for it.
