Well. We are dealing here with a pretty sophisticated operating system
that, just like mac os x, truly needs the horsepower. I can't really blame
them for advancing their technology.  The question is: do most users need
this stuff? The answer is: no. I wouldn't be surprised when someday this
huge bubble full of hot air would explode in the faces  of the computer
manufacturers. Consumers and businesses will then  decide that they don't
need all these upgrades... I think that we just reached this point, because
there have been no significant developments in the application field since
the rise of Web.  Why should one buy xp?  It won't give you better
webbrowsing.

This is terrible!
Especially since macs have always been y2k compliant. A system 6 mac counts
to 2040 (the year I must die:-). And about the older pc's... Microsoft
released a patch for win 3.1 that makes them 2yk compatible...
