I have tried replacing the drive and still get errors. I'm not 100% sure on
the replacement of drives as there were a lot of jumpers to select (drive
termination power etc). I will try swapping an old Apple drive out of a Mac
II and see how I go.

Replace the drive.  Then see if it works.
