I hauled an SE30 8/80 from the jaws of Death and plugging it into my
home LAN, just because.
Amazing, it boots off the same mains bus as the 266G3 and has
launched, done half a morning's work and gone to smoko before the G3
has finished loading

It was chattering away happily with System 7.0, it's hard disk icon
appearing on the desktop of the 266G3 until I decided to tidy it up.
The original owner had a major shambles..... all the Applications,
everything, were in the Apple Menu folder for a start.
I backed the hard disk up, reformated it and installed System 7.1
(I'll move on to 7.5 when I've increased the RAM).
But now I find that any attempt to open AppleTalk in the Network
Control Panel produces the announcement " An error occured trying to
install the selected AppleTalk connection...LocalTalk instead"
There was no other ethernet driver present in the backed up HD file.
Sharing is turned on.
The hub shows a light on for that port.
The PB520 is connecting, no problems.

Any suggestions?

Another thought: Is it possible to get an SE30 to boot off an
external CD drive (Apple)? I suspect that unlike more recent models,
the basic CD drivers are not present in the ROM.
