Why? There are three possibilities:

a) it's digital signal like CGA/EGA - not very common on the Mac
b) it's a ECL signal - very common for old Mac screens
c) it's an analog signal like VGA with sync-on-green or seperate sync

I guess it's b) - but there are enough CRT you can buy new or used that
understand this (EIZO 6600, 6500 and others). The toughest thing will be
to find out which pin means which signal.
