I have an SE and a MacII running 7.0.1 connected to an ethernet network. 3 things I've noticed: 1. You can't ping to the SE or MacII until after you have started up a network application e.g. fetch or NCSA telnet in my case. 2. I can't access internet sites using name addresses. Instead I've to use the raw IP addresses e.g. 128.242.245.99 instead of www.lowendmac.com For whatever reason, I've not managed to set up the DNS service correctly in MacTCP. 3. Although I've a network with a DHCP server, I've had to set the IP addresses of the two macs manually i.e. assign them static address. DHCP did not seem to work. I hope that helps. If anyone has a similar config and has managed to resolve the DNS issue, can you tell us how you did it? Thanks. Ben -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
