I picked up a Nomai 750.c today. In the box with it was a Nomai 540MB cartridge (which was labeled "DOS format"). No manual.
Anyways, I can't get the thing to work. I'm using external termination. The drive itself is recognized by the version of FWB Toolkit that I have (2.01), but it doesn't seem to want to format the cartridge. I'm kind of at a loss. It seems to spin up. If I choose "auto-initialize" in FWB, it comes up with an rather generic-sounding error: "Encountered a general device error. (SCSI:0 ID2)" ...which is the device address. It intermittently makes a kind of grindy-electrical noise (when it *might* be in seek-mode, hard to tell). Does anyone have a manual for this? Or hopefully a driver disk? (Does it even need Mac drivers?) Any suggestions? Any thing I can add to make this easier? TIA. ------- Brandon -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
