With a IIfx ROM in my SE/30, it boots to the initial display called
"SimasiMac" (which I recall seeing a recent discussion of in the archives),
and takes several seconds (half minute?) to go to the regular boot screen.
When I put back in the regular SE/30 ROM, it boots normally.

This only happens on a hard (or cold) boot ...restarts don't exhibit the
symptom at all.

Of course, using the IIfx ROM means that I don't have to use an extension to
access the 128MB of RAM in the SE/30, which makes its continued use rather
attractive to me.

Does anyone else get the "SimasiMac" screen only when they're using the IIfx
ROM (or the IIsi for that matter). Should I be concerned about this? (I
haven't tried spraying electical contact cleaner on the logicboard as one
post suggested in the archives, but I certainly will give that a try if the
consensus seems to be in that direction.)

Everything's working just fine otherwise (well, the d_mn! Nomai 750.c
isn't - yet - working ...but everything *else* in this machine is working
great), so I hate to "fix" something that ain't broke.
