Yo compacters everywhere,

Surprise of surprises, My experience with now hundreds of transfers, the alias
survival is consistant no matter what I do with the drive name. This baffled me at
first as I suspected just as you do. But after many many transfers, I've become
habituated to which alias' break and which don't. Lately, I've been wondering what I
can do to improve alias survival. I have found nothing in writing on this yet. On my
SE transfer, MS Works will break while MS Word will not. On a Classic transfer, both
survive. Their files and folders are configured exactly the same. Go figger. That on
the Classic, only two of thirty eight alias' break doesn't make sense to me. But I'm
looking at this positive-how do I get those last two alias' to survive? Well,
actually, the real question is how do I get the twenty two that break on the SE
transfer to stay connected?
