Hi Folks,

Found a poor, very beat up SE out in a back lane today. Brought it home.

Plugged it in & plugged in a keyboard and mouse. turned it on.

Fan runs, HD light blinks. Screen doesn't light. Doesn't boot.

It's possible that I can hear the HD spinning but certainly no sound of
HD being read.

Opened it up. Removed HD.

Plugged HD into external scsi enclosure. Plugged that into my Plus. Plus
boots to floppy as normal. HD light blinks but doesn't show up on the
desktop and I don't actually know how to make a external scsi available
to a Plus that boots w/ system 6.05 on a floppy anyway. Terminated the
scsi enclosure using external terminator. End result no different.

So. Plugged external scsi enclosure with Hd into my Classic. When
enclosure is termintated, Classic won't boot. Just gets as far floppy
icon with question mark.

In each circumstance the HD light blinks consistently with a 3-slow,
3-quick blink pattern. Over and over.

Read the faq about harddrives. Recognized that termination might be a
problem but you can see that I tried either way. Recognized that scsi ID
might be a problem but would Plus have any ID conflicts if there is no
other scsi device on the system?

Any other suggestions? SE is quite beat up (as in "case badly damaged")
but if I can get it to work, that would be cool.

Thanks,
Phil.
