I'm getting very fed up about discussions about compact stuff that comes 
up for auction with a funny coloured screen. Any evidence that such 
machines are prototypes is more flimsy than the paper I just rolled into 
a cigarette (sorry that you couldn't see the action).

Compact Macs have a 9" tube. So do loads of other monitors. Books like 
the Bob Brant tome and projects like "Camnereg" (Green screen Plus at 
the the old L0pht hackers -- for info try http://web.archive.org/) have 
discussed how to swap the b&w crt in a compact for a coloured one. Why 
would Apple use a naff amber or green crt in a prototype when the Mac 
developers had as much money to spend as they wished? A compact with a 
coloured screen is a post sale replacement because the owner couldn't 
afford a proper repair. End of story.

When somebody tries to rip you off, tell them to fake off.
