I wonder if that would work in OS X Server's Blue Box!?  That would be 
too cool -- I have a Beige G3 tower running OSXS 1.2, and if this trick 
works it could be a neat way to solve the problem of getting the 
compacts online.

Longtime readers have probably realised by now that I want to solve the 
problem with a "kewl" solution and not simply get the machines online. :)
