Or you could try NuisanceNullifier 1.0, freeware from 1996. From the
Readme: "NuisanceNullifier for Navigator is a shareware system extension
that eliminates the nuisance caused by Netscape Navigators error
alerts. Whenever there is a problem, Netscape Navigator interrupts you
with an alert dialog, which forces you to stop your current activity in
Netscape Navigator and dismiss the alert. NuisanceNullifier for
Navigator eliminates the alert and, instead, displays a strip along the
top of the screen, which displays the contents of the alert (in red on
color monitors). The strip can be dismissed immediately if you click
directly on it, or NuisanceNullifier for Navigator will dismiss it
automatically as you continue working. Thus you can avoid paying
attention to it."

Worth a try if that's your problem. You don't exactly say tho.

If moldy authenticity isn't such a big deal, why not take the pickle's
advice and try iCab? It couldn't look any worse in b+w than it does in
color, and at least it's up to speed for today's web.
