This is one of those "We get it, so why don't they?" points. Even on my
shiny modern computer running a modern browser, it's almost always the ads
that cause problems. Either it stalls the rest of the page coming up, times
out and screws up the page, or the scripts break something. It's bad enough
on a modern browser, but when I'm browsing on my Quadras it's nearly
impossible to keep Javascript on without crashing it. It's too bad Mozilla
1 will only run on my Quadra under Linux. It's odd how it's as slow on my
200mhz 604e PPC running MacOS 8.6 as it is on my 40mhz Quadra running Linux
(but usable in both places).

Maybe someday the advertising will all just go away ;)
