1) No, although a publishing contact of mine who collaborated with him on publicity for the Mac II RUS book says he recently heard a rumour that Pina had died. Both of us were puzzled and saddened by this news, and Don was unable to come up with any actual evidence. He said that Pina was a bit of a recluse, and it was entirely possible that he might have started the rumour himself to get people to quit bugging him. 2) Lemme check mine...yeah, same here. No idea what this refers to: >On page 219 (top paragraph) of his "Macintosh Repair and Upgrade >Secrets" he states, "Turn to the chapter on logic board repairs for >further instructions." Only, there is no chapter on logic board The only thing I can think of is that they might be in Classic and SE RUS and the publishers decided to move that chapter to the later book at the last minute, and the editor failed to notice that reference. >While in the realm of Larry Pina type things (can't think of an >analog board repair without thinking of L.P.) what is the little neon >bulb (think it's a neon bulb) for on the Mac Plus analog board? I bet it's an indicator of some sort for the situation you describe :) -- the pickle FAQ <http://macfaq.org/index.shtml> Software Archive <ftp://download:[EMAIL PROTECTED]//Users/thepickl/Sites/Archive/> <http://www.members.jmug.org/%7Ethepickl/archive/> _________________________________________________________________ -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
