Hmm,
One of my SE/30's just went belly up - maybe --... When I power it on, the screen goes
to alternating black and white vertical lines over the top half of the screen,
vertical black and white lines offset from the above (black to white, white to black)
for the next 25% and then a sort of wavy herringbone for the last 25% of the screen.
All analog board connections look good, all solder connections solid and shiny. I've
tried 4 different sets (4) of memory to no avail, cleaned and reseated all RAM and
ROM-SIMM and nada. Did notice that the two caps at the very front of the mobo
(location B1 and L1) are both missing. They are in the schematics as "generic pull up
caps" 47micro's at 16V... could these keep the RAM system hosed? or have I blown
something else on the board --- Hate to buy another SE/30 for just the mobo -- or for
just the 2 caps.... guess I'll try Radio Schlock while y'all think of anything else to
try.....
