Is the P578 a 68040 machine? If so, that's Apple's retcon'ing marketing department at work. The 68040 runs at 33 MHz (or 25 or 40 on other machines). There is one little piece of the chip which uses a 66 MHz signal and so Apple started claiming that their '040 machines were clock doubled, like the 80486s of the day truly were, but it was a big lie. So the original specs said 33 MHz and the later marketing weenie stuff said 33/66 or just 66. Jeff Walther -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
