It does, but because your hand is so far away from the part that's getting
heated up, you don't notice it.

As Philip said, ferrous tools will distort the inductance of the coil, causing
the adjustments to be different when the tool is inserted than when it's
removed, so it would be best to use plastic tools anyway.
