Yo compacters everywhere, My plea for advice here goes to the educators and bilinguists of this forum. Up at the senior center, all of our Macs, our SE trainers right on through our two iMacs are all language challenged. They do everything only in the American idiom of the Engish language. Now I have need to configure an SE running System 7.1 and a PPC running MacOS 8.1 to do our Mac thing in Hipanic Spanish as well. WhaddoIdo?
I have seen a number of bilingual folders and files used to make the Mac bilingual. I have no idea of what works well for which of these Macs. I ask your knowledge of what will best do the job, inexpensively (Like dirt cheap), where to find it, and how to configure it. Our student has growing English skills, is somewhat peecee literate, and is seeking Mac training because he is a trained accomplished artist seeking employment as an illustrator, thus his need for Mac skills. In this small town and the entire county, our Mac training program at the senior center is all there is. Our students are not all seniors. Of note: the only community college courses within a long commute are peecee-only much to the continuing dismay and complaint of the local illustrating trades. I do believe we can cope in Engish. However, I thought I might learn here how best to make the Mac a more comfortable experience for someone whose native language is Hispanic Spanish.
