Update to previous post:

Bill Walsh of Digikey tells me that indeed there is a suitable Larry
Pina upgrade replacement for the diode at CR1 and CR5 on the analog
board (Pina Part # MR 824 5-A). Part # FR604CT is a
higher-amperage-than-the-original repacement that they carry. He further
tells me that the part that the pickle was refered to by someone else
there, # 1N5404, is a 3 amp part like the original. Confused yet? :)

If you have a problem with your focus control doing nothing and discover
that one or both of the two resistors Pina mentions have burned out, the
ones he recommends as replacements are:

Radio Shack # 271-1131 & 271-1134 @ .99 cents, each pack of five. These
are exact matches to the upgrade parts.

One of these burned out in my 512K and for that price I can replace them
in all of my early Macs.

Again, use this information at your own risk.

Best, Hardy
