I need to change or add a battery to a Classic that seems to be
functioning very well. I've been looking at Pina's "Repairing SE's
and Classics. There is no diagram as to where the battery is nor is
there an index entry for "battery" or PRAM battery". (and I can't see
it when the case is open and nothing is yet removed) I've been
scouring through the book and think that I may have finally located
it but I need confirmation since it looks like I might have to
disconnect some things to get to it.

Is it on the Logic Board??? (remember, I get three guesses)

If it is, then is this the procedure to get to it: Remove cover. From
Logic board, unplug SCSI cable, unplug cable (that leads to Analog
board), unplug drive cable, unplug Accessory Board. I don't see any
screws or anything else that might prevent the board from sliding
out, but I don't know. The repair book only shows removing the board
on an SE. This looks similar but the bracket above the board looks
different and only has one screw. Someone may not have put them
back. The bracket doesn't seem to be holding the board -but is it?
Sorry about all this for a battery change. If my car was set up in a
similar way I would have to remove the transmission and the engine to
replace the battery.

I really like this little guy and I would like it to tell the right time again.
