Apparently these were manufactured (or at least sold) by several companies under a couple of different names. I have one from "Jasmine" that's called a 'Clipper Drive' because of the belt clip on the case so you could carry the drive around with you easily.
Here is what I know about the little darlings.... You can use a hard drive up to about 160-180MB _without_ an external power source. Above that and you need to get 5v from somewhere and the drive I have get's that from the ADB port, the power cable has a passthru plug. The DB25 SCSI port provides pass thru termination automatically. I have mine setup as a boot drive for my compacts with a bunch of appropriate system repair and diagnostic software. Original Message: ----------------- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Wed, 2 Oct 2002 22:05:57 EDT I picked up this little 2.5-inch hard drive case called HitchHiker 80(though no longer any 80mb HD inside), made by Mass Microsystems. Has regular DB-25 (both male and female) on it, and SCSI ID setting switch. The male DB-25 is at a right angle, so you could just plug it into computer's SCSI port with the case in a vertical position. I'd love to use this cute little thing...only trouble is, no power supply. I assume 5v.(positive center? my guru told me), but the jack to plug the PS into is very tiny. So I am searching for the right wallwart and small enough adaptor plug. Would a 6-volt wallwart blow any HD I'd have in there? Anyway...this would be cool for those of you who want to have a small external drive on your compact, so keep your eyes open.
