Yes, that is a good description, with a small DIN 8 as you'd see for a printer, modem or local talk hookup. > If so, I might have the "rest of > the stuff" that it needs -- but it is an old ISA card -- I don't recall a Mac > version at all but ????? What online references to It I find are primarily PC related. Boca does carry drivers for it, but not for mac. The Mac Driver Museum has some software for it, but the driver they supply is for the full page scanner by the same company(The Complete PC, Inc). On top of this the SmartScan 2.0 software that comes in the download does not seem to want to recognize the Page Scanner 2.0 driver. But... in the help section of the software a reference is made to the The Complete Half-Page/GS working with the Macintosh. So... Although I had hoped this scanner would plug directly into the printer serial port and magically work, I think it is like most other handheld scanners of the time (ie. the Logitech ScanMan) and needs a box that has a din 8 port on one end, and a SCSI on the other end. > Might also have part of the manual around buried > somewhere but that will be a long shot. If you were to come across it I would be very interested in knowing if there is any reference to Macintosh.. > Last used it in the late 80's.... > Works quite well, but takes a practiced hand to scan at the "right" speed down > the page.... I thought it would be a cool addition to my small collection of compacts, and three bucks didn't seem much of a risk. I would like to see it work though.
