My SE/30 with a IIsi ROM also shows the horizontal stripes on startup. Alas, I don't have 128Mb of RAM so I can't really complain about the time taken for the RAM check. I find it hard enough to make use of 32Mb unless I use a web browser or Photoshop. Mark B -- you have an SE/30 with the 50MHz socketed Daystar accelerator, don't you? Is the startup "bing" a little briefer and a slightly different pitch than a standard SE/30? Phil -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
