I suggest you scrutinize every part, solder joint etc. from the neck of the
CRT, along connectors, all over the analog board. This sounds like a cold
solder joint. (Or, worst case, a failure with the cathode electron gun,
inside the crt.) Remove the white cover from the analog board and start
tapping *gently* over it with a plastic pen (not a pencil), while the Mac
is on. Tap connectors, components, everything. Just be careful.
