You won't really choke a Classic running system 7.1. It is not a Plus... There is however not that much reason to run system 7 on a Classic because the most interesting features of system 7 (like being able to run OT or do 32 bit addressing) won't work on a 68000. OT needs at least a 68030. Unless you really have to do drag and drop or run applescripts, you are better of with the much faster and far more stable system 6.08.
