I think the general consensus so far from my friends is that I have pretty much dove right into the deep end. Something about men in white jackets and commitment. My wife just shook her head, but she understands the attachment I had to my SE. My only complaint right now is how loud it is, even compared to some of my PCs. The scsi drive in it has a particularly nasty whine. I haven't actually figured out what I want to use it for quite yet. There seems to be some good education and and fun game software for it, as well as decent word processors and the like, so it would still be a usable machine. I'm tracking down more RAM and an ethernet card for it as I type this (the RAM is from someone on the LEM swap list). The RAM is from a Iivx. As long as these are 16MB non parity simms, they should work fine shouldn't they? Of course I thought that about the last group of SIMMS I bought from a Iici. Luckly I sold those to someone else with a II ci so I'm not out anything other than shipping. Steve -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
