Early in my Classic II cum iMac project here, I went looking for a way to add AppleScript to System 7.1. I didn't find it either so will be looking for response to your question here. What I did find was the way to add the Control Strip feature to System 7.1 and then install the CSM called OT/PPP Strip from some fellow named Dennis J. Wilkinson.
