Canvas was one of the few graphic apps other than MacPaint that 
allowed you to exporte a Startup SCreen directly from the app. There 
was an actual "Save as StartupSCreen" menu option.  Don't know if 
that's the case with Canvas 7 or 8 (or whatever version they're up to 
now).  If you search the MacAddict Archive for the term Startup 
Screen, you'll probably find a step-by-step tutorial.
