OK, I'm gonna come clean and admit that the keyboard in question is actually
the one embedded in my PowerBook 3400 and not an external unit attached to a
compact Mac. I'm only bringing it up here now because no one on the
PowerBook list has an answer and I'm assuming that all ADB keyboards share a
common internal design regardless of age or installation. Also, this list
seems to have more of a hardware bent than most others.

The problem is that the [F4], 4, R F and V keys quit working. Since these
keys are all in a vertical line I'm suspecting a bad solder joint somewhere.
Sometimes I can get one of these keys to register a keypress when I hold a
key down for a long time. Other times, I get wierder results - i.e. I hit 4
and the Mac registers both [F4] and 4 as being pressed, or I hit R and the
Mac thinks I've hit [F4] or I hit F and get R etc. etc. (results vary).

At the same time the keyboard quits almost entirely if the 'Book is left
running for a long time (heat?) but that's likely PowerBook-specific and
I've gone OT far enough.

Cheers,
Adam.
