Hello to all,

Now that I've got my SE/30 working perfectly with NetBSD and a Asante
ethernet card conected to my FreeBSD home network, I'm about to upgrade
SE/30 ram.

Well, installing Asante card and opening SE/30 was very easy, but know
I'm very afraid of video tube high voltage.

I have SE/30 manual (pdf) and I've read a lot about discharge video tube
and installing ram, but I have some doubts that I apreciate that you
help me about:

Topic: Add ram modules

1. Discharge the tube: do I need to discharge the tube to add more ram?

2. Steps that I need: I don't know what is the easy way to add ram:
remove the power suply and disk to access ram banks or remove the logic board.

Can anyone help me about this?

PS: Related to discharge the crt:

I know that I need to use a resistor or a normal electric insulated
cable (I'm I right?) to connect from chassis and then contact HT
lead boot on the crt. I'm don't know what is the best part of the
chassis that I can connect this cable.

I'm asking this newbie questions because I don't understand anything
        about electronics.

Thanks very much,

                Nuno Teixeira
